1. Do you take moisture readings every day and will you give me the drying log?
2. Are your technicians certified in water damage restoration?
3. Where do you think the moisture is coming from, and who fixes it?
4. Will you set up containment and negative air, and how will you protect the rest of the home?
5. How will you deal with smoke odor inside wall cavities and the HVAC ducts?

Ask for a North Carolina general contractor license and look it up with the state Licensing Board for General Contractors, plus state trade licenses for plumbing, electrical or heating work. Also ask for proof of insurance and industry certification for the restoration crew.
