What Makes Los Angeles County Different
Los Angeles County gets its damage in bursts. Months of dry weather and wildfire risk, then a few winter storms that dump weeks of rain in days. Earthquakes are the other local risk. Know where your gas and water shutoffs are and keep a wrench near the gas meter. A strong quake can crack supply lines and water heaters that are not strapped.
