How We List Companies

Every company here comes from public business listings in 45 US metro areas, gathered on September 23, 2026. We keep a company when its own listing says it does restoration or remediation work, either in its main business type or in the services it describes. A plumber that only mentions leaks does not make the cut. A plumber that lists water damage restoration does.

We place each company by where its map pin sits, not by the city name in its address, because postal names cross county lines. Companies that share a phone number are treated as one company and listed once.

Nobody pays to be listed and nobody pays to rank higher. City pages sort by distance from the middle of the city by default, and you can re sort by reviews or rating. Ratings and review counts are shown as they appear on public listings, without editing.

Where we could find them, listing pages also show a company’s ratings on other review sites such as Yelp, Facebook, the Better Business Bureau and HomeAdvisor, with a link to read them there. We only show a profile when its name and city clearly match the listing. When a company has two profiles in the same city and we cannot tell which one is this location, we leave that site out. We never average ratings across sites, because each site counts reviews differently. When they disagree by a full star or more, the page says so.

What we do not do. We do not verify licenses, insurance or certifications, and a listing is not an endorsement. Each listing page has a short list of questions to ask and the state license lookup to use. Please use them.

We found 13,693 companies that met the bar. If a company closed or its details changed, updating its public business profile is the fastest way to have that show here on the next refresh.
