Texarkana sits right on the Texas and Arkansas state line, which runs down the middle of State Line Avenue. Checking a License in Texarkana
On the Texas side, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation licenses mold work. For mold jobs of 25 contiguous square feet or more, ask for a state licensed mold assessor to write the plan and a separate state licensed mold remediation contractor to do the cleanup, because Texas does not let the same company do both on one project. Texas has no statewide license for general contractors, so ask for proof of liability insurance and check with your city about permits.
On the Arkansas side, Arkansas licenses contractors through the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board, which covers commercial and residential builders and home improvement work. Ask for the license number and look it up with the board before you sign. Arkansas has no separate mold license. On either side, ask whether the technicians hold industry certification in water damage and mold remediation, and ask for proof of liability and workers compensation insurance.
