1. Do you take moisture readings every day and will you give me the drying log?
2. Are your technicians certified in water damage restoration?
3. Where do you think the moisture is coming from, and who fixes it?
4. Will you set up containment and negative air, and how will you protect the rest of the home?
5. How will you deal with smoke odor inside wall cavities and the HVAC ducts?

For mold jobs over 10 square feet, ask for a New York State licensed mold assessor and a separate licensed remediator. Also check local contractor licensing and ask for proof of insurance and industry certification for the crew.
