What Makes Marquette, Michigan Different
Marquette sits on the shore of Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula, and lake effect snow buries the area most winters. Heavy snow on a roof plus heat leaking into the attic makes ice dams along the eaves. Water backs up behind the ice and runs into ceilings and walls, often weeks before anyone sees a stain. Seal and insulate the attic, and rake snow off the roof edge when it is safe.
