2. Are your technicians certified in water damage restoration?
3. Where do you think the moisture is coming from, and who fixes it?
4. Will you set up containment and negative air, and how will you protect the rest of the home?
5. How will you deal with smoke odor inside wall cavities and the HVAC ducts?

Ask whether the contractor is registered with the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation, check permits with your town, and ask for a state license for plumbing or electrical work. Also ask for proof of insurance and industry certification for the crew.
